Chevy just announced pricing for the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 and everything costs more. Work Truck is $41,395 — up $1,700 from last year. ZR2 tops out at $79,995. Seven versions, four engines, whole truck is new. On sale before end of 2026.

Trucks are what keep Chevrolet’s business running. An executive told Car and Driver they account for around 40 percent of everything the brand sells.

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Price vs Ford F-150 and Ram 1500

The Ford F-150 XL starts at $40,610. Ram 1500 Tradesman — $38,590. The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Work Truck at $41,395 is the most expensive base truck of the three — buyers who just need a plain work truck will find cheaper options at Ford and Ram.

Chevy Silverado ZR2 is $79,995. Ford Raptor R — same price. Ram TRX — over $90,000. The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 undercuts the TRX by more than $10,000.

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Interior and Screens

New body on a revised T1 platform. Interior redesigned around the Tahoe’s layout — bigger screens, cleaner dash. Every version gets a digital gauge cluster and center infotainment screen from the factory.

Both the High Country and ZR2 add an 11.2-inch passenger screen and a heads-up display on top of that. Chevy says the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 can carry up to 60 inches of screen total — gauge cluster, center screen, passenger display and digital rearview mirror added together.

High Country is the luxury version of the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 — aimed at buyers who want a premium feel inside a truck. It gets a sunroof, fancier seat materials and a center console that converts between a bench seat and a storage unit. ZR2 is the performance off-road version — red stitching throughout the cabin, carbon-fiber trim on the dash, and all the serious off-road hardware underneath.

Chevy added Super Cruise to the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 — a hands-free driving system that steers the truck on the highway without the driver holding the wheel. It now works while towing. Ford has offered the same thing on the F-150 for a while. Chevy now has it too.

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Engine Lineup

Two V8 engines are new on the 2027 Silverado — GM confirmed the full details in their official press release. The old 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter are out. The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 gets a 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter instead — both from the engine family Chevy put in the new Corvette Grand Sport this year.

The 5.7-liter is the everyday V8, available across most versions of the truck. Chevy hasn’t put a horsepower number on it yet — just says it’s stronger than the 355-horsepower engine it replaces.

The 6.6-liter is the powerful one. Chevy’s claim is that no other full-size pickup truck in America has a stronger V8 right now — no turbocharger, no supercharger, just a big engine making power on its own. Output figures haven’t been released yet.

The base engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder — smaller than a V8 but still around 310 horsepower, uses less fuel, standard on cheaper versions like the Silverado Work Truck and Custom.

The Chevy Silverado Duramax diesel — 3.0-liter, same as last year — now comes on the base Work Truck for the first time. Buyers who tow regularly and want better fuel economy can get the diesel without spending more on a higher-priced version.

Towing and payload numbers not released yet. Those come closer to when the 2027 Chevy Silverado goes on sale.

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Off-Road Trims

Chevy offers three off-road versions of the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 — Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and ZR2.

Custom Trail Boss at $57,195 is the entry off-road truck. Lifted two inches from stock, bigger 34-inch tires, looks the part. The Silverado Trail Boss at $63,995 is a step above — same mechanicals, different interior details.

Neither Trail Boss gets the 6.6-liter V8. Want the big engine in an off-road truck — ZR2 only.

The Chevy Silverado ZR2 at $79,995 is where the serious off-road hardware starts. Better suspension that handles rough terrain without beating up the cabin. 35-inch tires. Locking differentials front and rear — meaning both axles spin together when stuck in mud or rocks instead of one wheel spinning uselessly. Duramax diesel standard, 6.6-liter V8 as an upgrade most buyers will add.

ZR2 Bison wasn’t in the pricing announcement. Chevy has shown updated images so it’s coming. Price not confirmed yet.

2027 Silverado 1500 Trim Names That Changed

Chevy simplified the lineup for 2027. Three trim names that existed on the old Silverado — LT, RST and LTZ — are gone. The LT, which was the mid-level everyday version, is now just called Silverado. Same truck, different name on the badge. The LT Trail Boss off-road version is now just called Trail Boss. Everything else — Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, High Country and ZR2 — keeps its name from before.

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Sale Date and Availability

The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 price list is confirmed — on sale before end of 2026. Chevy starts with the pricier trucks — High Country and ZR2 arrive at dealers first. Silverado Work Truck and Custom follow later. Towing and payload figures are still unconfirmed — Chevy publishes those closer to launch.

What changed on the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500?

Two new V8s, totally new interior with way more screens, new body panels and Super Cruise finally works while towing.

When is the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 available at dealers?

End of 2026 but don’t expect the cheap Work Truck to show up first — Chevy always pushes the expensive versions out the door before the base models.

What engines does the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 offer?

Four options — 2.7L four-cylinder, 3.0L Duramax diesel, new 5.7L V8 and new 6.6L V8. Horsepower numbers on both V8s are still being held back by Chevy.
