Kia pulled the covers off the PV7 at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover this week, officially expanding its electric commercial van lineup beyond the PV5 that launched earlier this year. The Kia PV7 is bigger, more capable, and comes with two battery options — and Kia is already planning 23 variants of it.
That last number is worth sitting with for a second. Twenty-three variants. For a van that hasn’t even gone on sale yet.
What the Kia PV7 Actually Is
The PV7 is the second model in Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup, sitting above the PV5 in size and capability. Same E-GMP.S platform as the PV5. Flat floor comes standard — which in a cargo van means no driveshaft hump stealing space from the load area.
72 kWh or 96 kWh battery, both nickel-cobalt-manganese. Front-wheel drive only for now, Kia adds all-wheel drive down the road. Peak numbers are 268 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque — what you actually get depends on which market and which spec you order. The Long Range Cargo version hits 285 miles on the European WLTP cycle — figure around 240 miles on EPA methodology for anyone pricing this up for a US fleet.
800-volt architecture means 10 to 80 percent charging in around 25 minutes on a DC fast charger. Two charging ports — front AC/DC as standard, optional rear AC port. Vehicle-to-load capability is included, so the Kia PV7 can power tools and equipment on a job site directly from the battery.

Size and Cargo Configurations
The Kia PV7 Cargo comes in two- and three-seat setups. Long configuration measures 210.6 inches bumper to bumper — essentially identical in length to the 2027 Ram ProMaster City, though the Kia PV7 is wider and taller. Cargo Long version offers 215 cubic feet of storage. Step up to the High Roof and that grows to 282 cubic feet.
Payload is rated at 2,568 pounds on the Long model, and there’s a dedicated heavy-load drive mode for when the van is running at capacity. Tailgate options are twin-swing or lift-up, buyer’s choice. The Passenger variant shares the same dimensions but fits nine people — squeeze to eleven in South Korea where regulations allow it.
Design and Interior
The Kia PV7 follows the same visual language as the PV5. Upright front end, blocky bumper trim hiding the main headlights, thin daytime running lights running up a gloss black front panel. Prominent wheel arches, chunky vertical taillights. It looks like a working van that knows it’s a working van — no pretense of being anything else.
Inside, a 14.6-inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard alongside a slim digital gauge cluster. Kia kept physical buttons — including a full row of climate toggles — which fleet operators will appreciate over a touchscreen-only setup. The Kia PV7 runs Pleos Connect, Hyundai and Kia’s new Android Automotive OS-based infotainment rolling out across the group’s new models. Flexible screen layouts, open app marketplace, and Gleo AI voice assistant handling navigation, vehicle settings, and messaging.

Fleet Management Software
Kia is packaging the PV7 with its Business Solutions Portal — a software platform built specifically for fleet operators covering charging management, maintenance scheduling, and daily operational tasks. Kia’s Uptime services layer on top with real-time monitoring and predictive diagnostics, designed to flag issues before they pull a van out of rotation.
For a fleet manager running 20 of these things, that software integration matters more than the horsepower number.
Where and When It Goes on Sale
South Korea and Europe first, starting 2027. More markets to follow — no US confirmation yet. The Kia PV7 will be built at Kia’s Hwaseong factory in South Korea alongside the PV5.
Twenty-three variants are planned total: Compact Cargo, Compact Passenger, Chassis Cab, and a range of conversion models for third-party upfitters. An even larger PV9 is targeted for 2029. The smaller PV1 concept shown in 2024 has no confirmed production timeline.
