Mercedes-AMG has released the first new images of its upcoming electric SUV, showing a heavily camouflaged prototype with styling details that connect it to the new AMG GT 4-Door EV.

The latest images show a prototype covered by a black shroud. Most of the body remains hidden, but the front and rear lighting is visible.
The headlights use LED elements arranged around a three-pointed-star shape. One longer light element angles inward toward the center of the front end.
The taillights use another three-pointed-star design, with a small star placed inside a circular outline. The AMG GT 4-Door EV uses a similar treatment, although its rear lighting has three of these elements on each side.
These details indicate that the Mercedes-AMG electric SUV will share some of its visual identity with the upcoming electric sedan.
The Front End Gets AMG GT 4-Door Design Elements
The Mercedes-AMG electric SUV appears to carry over several design features from the AMG GT 4-Door EV.
A raised section runs between the headlights, while the upper edge of the grille sits between the lighting units. The front grille also appears to extend outward from the fascia.
The prototype has wide wheel arches and a broad stance. Mercedes-AMG has not shown enough of the uncovered body to confirm the complete shape of the rear section.
An LED light bar connecting the headlights is also possible, although Mercedes-AMG has not confirmed that feature.
The final SUV is expected to have a taller body than the AMG GT 4-Door EV while retaining the front-end design language seen on the electric sedan.
Three Electric Motors Could Push Output Past 1,000 HP
Mercedes-AMG has not confirmed the powertrain for the Mercedes-AMG electric SUV.
The AMG GT 4-Door EV provides the closest reference for the expected hardware. Its three-motor setup produces 805 horsepower in GT55 specification and 1,153 horsepower in GT63 specification.
